Persona non Grata Studio is a state-of-the-art recording studio located in the Yorktown neighborhood of Arlington, VA. It was founded in 1997 with nothing more than a 4-track cassette recorder and an unfinished basement. From its humble beginnings, Persona non Grata has grown to occupy a purpose-built facility in the northern Arlington.

Persona non Grata is the musical base for producer/engineer/multi-instrumentalist Thomas Orgren. Thomas’ lifelong love affair with music began before he could even walk - he would crawl into his sister's room to bang on the toy piano - and his love affair with recording began not long after, when he learned to hit record on a handheld cassette recorder at the age of three. Nearly three decades later he has performed and recorded with dozens of bands and produced and engineered many more. His diverse musical training has spanned the worlds of rock, jazz and classical, learning a half-dozen instruments along the way. His engineering and production work has taken him to a dozen states and three continents.

Through years of experience working with some of the brightest musical minds in DC and beyond, Thomas understands what it’s like to be on both sides of the glass and strives to foster a comfortable environment to inspire the performance of a lifetime. He specializes in recognizing what makes a project tick and thoughtfully guiding it from a kernel of an idea to a fully-realized recording.
